This is going to be my last post for a couple of weeks.  I hope everyone has an awesome holiday!  Happy New Year!!

Winter Break is close!!  We had a great time at the Long Term Care today.  The kids got to do a little giving, which really put a smile on their face.  There are no spelling words until after the new year.  I will hand out the new spelling lists the first week of January.  Please check to ensure that your child has 8 AM and AR points by Friday.  Many took AM home this evening because they are behind in points.  I do not want them to come back after break and already be behind.    

Tomorrow we have our last spelling test of the year:)  I will not be giving new spelling words until school starts again in January.  Also, tomorrow at 10am we are visiting the Long Term Care.  If you have a couple minutes during that time of the day, please stop by and see what is going on. We would love to see you!  Hope your week is going great!

Today I handed out letters from our Pen Pals in Australia.  Ask your child about the letter they received!  They were very thoughtful and cool.  We are currently writing our responses that tell about us, Wrangell, and asking questions about Australia.  We are very excited about this correspondence!  I am hoping that some of the students choose to keep in contact even after this school year is over!   

Can you believe we have one more week of school before Winter Break begins?  Time seems to be flying by!  First, do not forget to turn in your reading logs tomorrow.  Also, 8 AM and AR points will be due by this Friday, December 16, 2011.  On Wednesday, we will be visiting the Long Term Care to decorate some cookies and visit with the residents.  You are more than welcome to join us!  Friday is an early release and then Break begins!  I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! 

My moment has passed and all is normal again.  Spelling tests were given today, and new words were handed out on yellow paper for next week.  Tomorrow is a half day, so please plan for that.  We have one more week before break, please make sure you are not getting behind on points.  6 AM and AR points are due by tomorrow.  I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Great job at the concert!! You all did a fantastic job!  We were not able to get to the spelling tests today.  They will be tomorrow (Thursday) and new words will go home as well.  Planning ahead, Friday is an early release day.  Hope everyone had a great time this evening!

Thank you to all the parents that attended conferences.  I really appreciate your time and commitment to your child's education.  We have made great progress and I look forward to much more to come.  On Wednesday, new spelling words went home on yellow paper.  We will have that test next Wednesday, like normal.  We have a busy couple of weeks ahead of us, so please check back often.  Happy Holidays :)
